Welcome

This site is about Behaviour Kinetics - how people are applying its principles in a variety of organizations in a variety of ways. It's also about sharing experiences and ideas. The site will be updated monthly as we receive new case studies of successful change using a Behaviour Kinetics approach, as we are sent new articles, and as we get thoughts, comments and ideas from people.

The objective is to provide a forum for organizations to network with each other to find out about how, by adhering to the principles of Behaviour Kinetics, successful behaviour change has been achieved in a variety of situations. And it is also to enable companies to establish contact, if they wish, with experienced consultants and practitioners.

What is Behaviour Kinetics?

Up to now there has been no clearly defined field of endeavour that focuses purely on behaviour change and performance improvement in an organisational context.

Books, articles, cases and research studies draw upon theories and findings across the entire range of the social sciences - economics, psychology, sociology, and anthropology - with little or no integrating thread.

However, extensive research and experience, and many long conversations with practitioners of change, has led to a distillation of the principles underlying the science of successful change. We have called it Behaviour Kinetics. It is the science of behaviour change.

clear

Behaviour Kinetics is a scientific approach to behaviour change because it is able to perform the four essential functions of a science, to describe, explain, predict and control. It's based on seven principles:

  1. Behaviour drives performance
  2. The behaviour-performance link is job-specific
  3. The start point for change is acknowledgement of current behaviour
  4. The only true expert is the person who does the job
  5. Ownership of change is essential for success
  6. Change proceeds best from an AT (Ask Them) approach, not a TT (Tell Them) approach
  7. Successful behaviour change is based on observable, measurable data

It's a simple as that. Read more about Behaviour Kinetics and how its principles have been applied to improve corporate performance. If you would like to submit a case study, article, or view for publication please send to editor@behaviourkinetics.com for consideration.
